Valentine’s day nearly here. If you want to offer more than flowers and chocolates, this is for you!
Just have some fun together. Try something new, go somewhere different and don’t forget to tell them you love them. Everyone loves to hear they are loved.
1. Go for a daytime or moonlit walk
We have some really scenic walks along the coast in this area and some beautiful countryside, all easily accessible. Why not make the most of them? You could even do a surprise picnic or a pub lunch together!
2. Cook dinner together
Cooking dinner together is very intimate thing to do. You can eat healthily and enjoy each other’s company.
What about spelt flour pancakes with strawberry slices and crème fraiche. You could cut the pancakes in to heart shapes for breakfast or dinner dessert.
Chocolate lover? Go for a fondue with melted dark chocolate and berries and banana slices for dipping.
3. Share a drink together
Spirits with water or soda is a very healthy option. Spirits that have the same proof contain the same number of calories. Just choose your mixer wisely.
Red wine can lower inflammation, blood pressure and risk if heart disease but this does not mean you can drink it by the litre! Prefer beer or lager? Go light for less calories and carbs.
4. Go for a massage or spa together
Massages are a great way to release tension and unwind but they also help the body release toxins and endorphins (the feel good hormone) which helps your body to function better and you to feel good!
5. Gift the gift of health
Why not give them the gift of movement? Perhaps a sports watch, activity tracker, Pilates mat, work out clothing or even something like a Pilates, Yoga or Tai Chi pass? Alternative options to think about!
Have a Happy (and active) Valentine’s Day !
